Philosophy explores fundamental questions about our existence and relation to others. In the Philosophy of Law program, you’ll build a solid background in philosophy and apply these skills to important debates about law, legal reasoning, constitutions, punishment, individual liberty and international law. You will also examine the moral and political values that underlie legal institutions and give rise to heated controversies. You’ll examine topics such as justice, rights, punishment and the role of law in political and social life while building strong skills in critical thinking, reasoning and argumentation. The program draws on philosophy to help you understand how laws are created, interpreted and challenged, and encourages you to consider different perspectives on complex legal issues. If you’re interested in law, ethics or public policy, this program provides a strong foundation for careers in legal and government fields or further study in law.

•  ENG4U
•  And five additional 4U or M courses

To gain admission to this program, your academic average should be in the low-to-mid 70s.
